CHILDCARE at ESERA
In Copenhagen, there are plenty of opportunities for children and families. Copenhagen is generally child-friendly. But as something very special, at this year’s ESERA, there is an opportunity to have your children looked after/ childcare. Two talented and sweet young women will engage in activities with the children each day; Freja Christensen and Ellen Marie Holm Larsen.

Hi!
We’re Freja (20) and Ellen Marie (19) — your children’s activity hosts for the conference.
We’ve been friends for many years and both live in Frederiksberg, close to central Copenhagen.
Freja works as a waitress and in a retail store, and Ellen works as a support person for a young girl who is about to start school. We both graduated from gymnasium (high school) this summer and are taking a gap year before starting university.
We have solid experience working with children from previous jobs and genuinely enjoy creating a safe, fun, and engaging environment. We’re really looking forward to meeting you and your children!

In Copenhagen, there are plenty of opportunities for children and families. Copenhagen is generally child-friendly. We have gathered some information for those of you who are traveling with kids.
Copenhagen with kids:
The staffed playgrounds (FREE):
Across Copenhagen, you’ll find playgrounds with dedicated staff on site. This doesn’t mean they look after the children, but rather that they organize activities the kids can join, help out with scraped knees, and so on. At the staffed playgrounds, there are always opportunities to play both indoors and outdoors during opening hours.
Read more about the playgrounds and their locations here.
Libraries for children (FREE):
The Main Library in Krystalgade has an entire floor dedicated to children of all ages – LÆS. There are opportunities for play, reading, and creative activities. The floor also has restrooms and a dining area where you can either eat your packed lunch or visit the café one floor below to grab something to eat. Read more.
Many of the big museums have large areas dedicated to children. Entrance fees are free for kids, but adults must pay a fee.
We recommend those who are all within walking distance from the venue:
DGI Byen houses a large, lovely swimming pool, with both a children’s pool and diving boards for the older kids. There is also a café. Read more.
Swimming in the harbor (FREE): If the weather is good, there is also the option of jumping into the harbor. Copenhagen has designated swimming areas, with both children’s pools and jumping spots. Read more here.
Children’s Theater Festival (FREE): In week 35, there will be a free children’s street theater festival in Copenhagen. See the program and locations here.
